Manta Ray Night Snorkel
Float above lit ocean water after dark as Kona's resident manta rays somersault inches beneath you, the Big Island's single most unforgettable hour.
Land
Soar over gulches, waterfalls, and forest canopy on North Kohala's zipline courses, an easy jolt of adrenaline with some of the island's greenest views.
North Kohala’s old sugar land folds into deep gulches, and the zipline courses there string you right across them, over streams, waterfalls, and a canopy so green it hardly looks real. It is the island’s easiest way to trade a beach morning for a jolt of adrenaline.
Courses run seven to nine lines with sky bridges between, guides handle every clip and brake, and the setting, the wet, forested north end of the island, feels a world away from the sunny coast. Our concierge can help you book the tour and knows the drive up the coast.
Most courses take riders roughly 70 to 270 lbs and ages 8 and up, but limits vary by operator. Tell us about your group and we will point you to the course that fits everyone.
Closed-toe shoes are required, and comfortable clothes you can move in work best. Tie back long hair, secure or leave behind loose items like phones and sunglasses, and pack a light layer since the north end is often wet.
No experience is needed. Guides handle every clip and brake and walk first-timers through each line, so it suits nervous flyers and confident ones alike. The rush is real, but you are always securely harnessed.
Plan on roughly two and a half to three and a half hours on the course with seven to nine lines, plus about an hour of driving each way up to North Kohala. It pairs nicely with a relaxed afternoon back at the coast.
Tours run rain or shine, and the wet, forested north end is often misty, which is part of the beauty. Bring a light layer and expect the greenest views the island offers.
