Turn your back to the ocean and Hali’i Kai has a second show. Buildings 18 through 21 face Mauna Kea, and on clear mornings the summit catches the first light of the day before the community below it wakes up. This is Coconut Grove, the inland section of the property, set furthest from the pool deck and closest to nothing but birdsong and the community grills.
Both of our Coconut Grove suites are in building 19. The Plumeria Suite is a freshly renovated corner where the east-facing windows do the work of an alarm clock, and the Bird of Paradise Suite is an elegantly designed three bedroom, our largest floor plan, where the artwork gives the suite its name. The honest trade-off is that these lanais give up the ocean panorama for mountain light and the quietest nights in the community, and for long stays and light sleepers that is the whole point.
